Texas Republic Money
All of these bills are just reproductions you can buy at any of the museums that you may go to. However I just wanted to show the art work on the bills. So students, and adults alike, can so see what the money looked like back in the 1800's.
There is not any write-ups on these bills that I can find. However from the history that I do know, the earliest bill is dated 1838, and signed by Henry Smith as the Treasurer. So these must be the very first bills that were put out after the Texas began a Republic State 1836. It seems it took them two years to put out paper money. But I have found stories and write-ups telling of people back then, dealing only in gold coins.
